Atlantic hurricane season runs June 1 through November 30, with the statistical peak landing late August through early October. For Northeast Florida specifically — Jacksonville, St. Augustine, Ponte Vedra Beach, Amelia Island — the highest-risk window is roughly August 20 through October 15. Hurricane Matthew in 2016 and Irma in 2017 both threatened the region directly during this window. The first half of June and most of November tend to be quieter even within the named season — capacity is often available for moves that timing-flexible families schedule around the statistical peak.

If a named system enters the Atlantic Basin with a forecast track that could affect Northeast Florida within 72 hours of your move, we proactively reach out to discuss rescheduling — at no penalty. Coordinated load-and-go is sometimes possible if the forecast cone is wide and the storm is still 3+ days out, but our default policy is: cargo on the ground, crew safe, your stuff loaded only when the forecast is clean.

Best low-risk windows within the named season: early June (1–15), late October (after 15), and most of November. Worst windows: August 15 – October 10. If you’re relocating from the Northeast and want to arrive in time for snowbird season (November onward), early-November moves land in a low-storm-risk window with arrival temperatures already comfortable.
