Every move generates a meaningful pile of “stay-behind” stuff: old furniture you’re not bringing, accumulated garage debris, broken electronics, boxes of donate-or-throw items. Most families plan to handle this in a separate dispatch — but the second-dispatch cost (rental truck, dump fees, your time) typically exceeds the bundled add-on cost of having H2H handle it on move day. Plus the move-day workflow lets us load donation items into our truck cabin while the move cargo loads in the box, then we drop donations on the way to your new home.

How H2H Handles Donation Routing

Donation drop-offs are routed to active Northeast Florida charity partners: Salvation Army Family Stores (St. Augustine + Jacksonville), Goodwill of North Florida, Habitat for Humanity ReStore (multiple Jacksonville locations), and several local rescue missions. H2H crews track the donation manifest so you have a receipt for tax purposes. Furniture in good repair goes to Salvation Army or Goodwill; building materials and appliances go to ReStore.

Debris + Dump Routing

Items that aren’t donate-eligible — broken furniture, busted appliances, mattress disposal, construction debris from a renovation — go to a Northeast Florida transfer station. H2H handles the dump-fee logistics and includes the disposal cost in the bundled quote. Mattresses specifically require special handling in Florida — landfills don’t accept loose mattresses, and H2H routes them to a mattress-recycling facility.

The Bundled-Quote Model

When H2H quotes your move, we include a junk-removal add-on line item with the estimated debris volume. The pricing is transparent: the marginal cost of junk-removal is dramatically lower when bundled into the move-day crew dispatch than when scheduled separately. For most NE Florida moves, the bundled junk-removal add-on is a $X line item where X is meaningfully less than what a standalone junk-removal company quotes.
